Let Me See This Differently

Have you been in situations in life and at work that have left you in emotional states such as: confusion, desperation, anger, fear, depression to name a few?  Sometimes it seems that we are only looking in one direction unable to see another way, another point of view. We get in alignment of seeing the unpleasant in the unwanted situation.  However, is it possible to be in a situation that is unwanted, but able to navigate the water and flow in another direction allowing a different perspective to arise?

“A trained mind can accomplish nothing” (A Course in Miracles).  If you look at your situation objectively, you realize that living in angst and suffering is not necessary and not expected.  Perhaps you might realize that it is not what life is about. This is the moment to allow another way of being to emerge in you if you are not satisfied.  Allow, allow, allow and ask yourself “Let me see this differently”. When you get in the driver’s seat of your own life you and have control over your thoughts, you have the power.  Not your boss, not your partner, nor your brother or aunt, YOU!

Sure, situations arise, but how do we grow from them not crumble?  Yes, experiences can be challenging and difficult, but how do we stay in a place that our reactions serve our highest good not drag us further to the dark side?  It is crucial to build within you a core that is unshakable. A core that can take that failure because let’s be honest, a failure is an experience not a characteristic trait.  A core that can manage stress, and know that joy is life’s ultimate manifestation of itself.

“Let me see this differently” has been a tool that I have used time and time again in all areas of my life.  It give me the strength to shift my perception and see how to navigate the challenge, fear, sadness, loss etc…Yes, unwanted situations arise in work life and personal life, but we can and must navigate with clarity and grace.

Happy at Work?

What do you love to do and are you doing it?  If not, what needs to happen in order to make it possible?  If you let go of the “yeah but…” what does your working life look like?

I had wrestled with these questions in my 20’s and early 30’s.  I know why I went to college, but it was not playing out the way I had expected.  The older I became, the louder these questions were in my mind. I had heard someone say once, “If you do what you love, the money will follow”.  Was that true?

Have you ever felt “stuck” and sort of resigned to the camp of: this is life. Or perhaps you’ve thought others have “luck” and can follow their dreams or I’m aging out of this follow your dream thing.  Years later, I realized that I was living my life small and limited. I had no idea at the time that I could actually do something I love and earn a great living.  Once I started to change how I saw my “situation”, things started to fall into place.

Living small and not in your full potential is saying “Yes to a life that blocks your creativity, mental and physical energy, and hinders inspired ideas of growth.” We all have have a “situation”.  Can you just change careers? Are you happy at work or is there something else you are being called to explore?
