You are permitted to do what you love. It is absolutely OK to change your career if what you are experiencing is unfulfilling and disheartening. You do not need consent from others to do what you love. It is not flighty or irresponsible to choose a career that brings you joy. In fact, is could be argued that it’s irresponsible to your sanity to choose a job that brings nothing but displeasure, anguish, maximum stress and mental limitations.
In order to do something exceptionally you have to like what you do. It is important to your time on this earth to to ensure that you lived your greatest life. Why not? Often I find that clients may not have a specific “passion”, but what they do know is that they are unhappy with what they are currently doing. This is an indicator that it’s time to move forward. You may not know what lights your fire, however, it’s just as important to know what is creating dread in your life. There is no need to “search” for your passion. Following your inner guide will direct you to applying to a position that feels better than what you are currently doing. You intuitively know what feels right. Searching for a “passion” might create unnecessary stress.
On the flip side, if you are not listening to your calling then perhaps it’s time. Sometimes when we shift our perception, that horrid job becomes a job that will fund your startup business or pay for that degree you need to enter the field of your desire. You will know if you are making the right move because you will feel it and obstacles will start to move. Even if you are having fearful thoughts, you will instinctively know you are making a great decision. You will have a sense of “knowing” and excitement that you are creating the life you want to led.
You will always be guided if you choose to listen to your intuition. Things evolve and change. Passions may shift, emerge and change. The most important is that we live a life of happiness and going to a job you dread 40 or more hours a week is selling yourself short on well-being. I am a firm believer that your birthright is joy. Many of us find ourselves working and living with dangerous high levels of stress. You can be very successful and abundantly fulfilled without sacrificing your birthright.
